WELCOME NEW MEMBERS

Wanted: Members
Do your friends and family a favor: invite them to join the credit union. They'll thank you for the chance to take advantage of the benefits of belonging. And when they join, you'll have done yourself a good turn as well. Here's why: as a non-profit financial cooperative, we only exist to serve our valued member/owners. A broader base of members means we can continuously work to improve our products and services. We can be more efficient and pass those savings onto you. So do your part and pass the word. Let your friends and family in on one of the best ways to achieve financial security - membership in the credit union. For details on membership eligibility, contact the credit union or visit our Web site.

CREDIT UNION LOANS

Whatever Your Needs, We Have The Right Loan For You
Your credit union realizes that most members have wants and needs that go beyond their immediate ability to pay for them. Things such as furniture, appliances, home remodeling, a family vacation, and so forth are the "spice"
that makes life worth getting up for in the morning. Whatever your needs, your credit union has the right loan for you. It always seems easiest to put these large purchases on a credit card. "Charge it" seems to have become our national response to perking ourselves up when we feel we deserve something special. But credit cards aren't always the best way to go. Sometimes, it makes more sense to go with a signature loan, a home equity loan, or a secured loan. With the right type of loan matched to what you're buying, your credit union can save you hundreds, and even
thousands, of dollars in interest and fees.
So take a look around you. What do you want or need? Make a list, then prioritize it. Then stop by or call your credit union and let us help you turn that list into reality with the right loan.

SAVING TIPS

Saving Is The Key To A Secure Future
Even when the economy is booming, it can be difficult to save. When it's in the doldrums, you may think it's impossible. The fact is tough times make it even more important to save. Having funds to fall back on in an emergency or to make a special purchase is a key way to avoid taking on more debt by running up high interest credit card bills.
Here are time-tested ways to save:
* Use payroll deduction or automatic transfers - what you don't see, you don't miss.
* Each day, toss your pocket change in a jar. When it's full, bring it to the
credit union for deposit.
* Add to special accounts for specific purposes, for example, designate a savings account at the credit union for your vacation fund or for a down payment on your next vehicle.
* When you pay off a loan, continue making the payments, but to yourself.

COVERDELL IRA'S

Open A Coverdell Education Savings Account
With the cost of attending college growing more and more expensive, your credit union wants you to be aware of all the tools at your disposal to help your kids and loved ones get the higher education they will need to succeed. You may have heard of the Coverdell Education Savings Account (CESA). It's just a new name for an established program that used to be called the Educational IRA (Individual Retirement Account). With a Coverdell ESA, you can set aside savings for a designated beneficiary to pay for qualified college expenses. The contributions aren't tax-deductible, but they and their earnings can be withdrawn tax-free as long as they are used to pay eligible schooling costs.
Any qualifying adult (parents, grandparents, godparents, or friends) may put money in a child's CESA, but the total put in the account from all sources cannot exceed $2,000 annually. To qualify as a contributor to the account, a person must make no more than $95,000 if filing as single taxpayer, $190,000 if married filing jointly. Limited contributions are allowed for single taxpayers earning up to $110,000 and married couples making up to $220,000. Beyond those higher incomes, a person cannot contribute to an account.
For more information, or to set up a Coverdell Education Savings Account, call or stop by your credit union today.
